Olga’s Kitchen is a chain of Greek-based family restaurants primarily located in the Midwestern United States whose first location opened in Birmingham, Michigan in 1970. The distinguishing characteristics of an Olga’s Kitchen are that almost everything on their menu in some type of sandwich put in a pita and made spicy, the great wait staff, and also a very nice and clean environment for you to eat in.
Walking up the the restaurant around lunch time on Black Friday, I noticed that the place was absolutely packed. Yet within thirty seconds of me walking in, I was greeted by the hostess and asked the standard questions, how many people are in your party and of course smoking or non. The host sat me without any wait, and shortly after she left the waitress arrived with a smile on her face. She was very friendly and asked what I would like to drink and if I would like an appetizer. Now when you go to Olga's, you must order their Snackers, they are deep fried pit chips seasoned in a cayenne pepper based seasoning and come with Swiss almond cheese to dip them in. They are to die for. So I ordered a basket of Snackers and a Pepsi.
About five minutes later, the waitress returned with the Snackers and my Pepsi and took my lunch order, I ordered a Philly Cheese Steak with extra steak (the portions are not small, I was just extra hungry) and I saw her immediately go and put my order in. Considering that the restaurant was jam packed, I thought that was a key aspect that I considered when deciding if it was a good review or a bad one because some waitresses or waiters may have waited a few minutes to put my order in.
Shortly after I finished my plate, the waitress had returned with a Pepsi refill and the bill. The damage done was $22.61, not a necessarily cheap lunch, but a very delicious one. I thought that the waitress was very good, so a pulled out six dollars and the debit card to pay for the meal. The waitress returned shortly and took the bill and my card and she must had noticed my generous tip because when she had returned, I noticed that the price was changed from nearly twenty three dollars to sixteen, and at the top of the revised check is “EMPL DISC”. This topped of my nearly perfect visit with her great generosity which was greatly appreciated.
The food at Olga’s are made in their unique way, and there is something on the menu for everyone to eat. This Greek kitchen is a great place to go with your family or friends and you’ll see the excellent food and service first hand. Overall I give Olga’s Kitchen 4.5 stars out of 5 and I would recommend it to anyone who has not tried it.
James your review was good, it had all the required things, like readability, photos, length, words, rating, useful info, prices, and atmosphere.
ReplyDeleteThe employee discount was cool. The snackers look good.
